Help for Breast Cancer Awareness CampaignProject progress
Screening of Breast Cancer in developed countries is recommended beyond 40-50 years of age. However, analysis of patients presenting with disease in Pakistan shows an increasing incidence in the younger age group of 20-40 years, which should raise alarms for the Research Communities.
Talks of an international Breast Cancer Consultant Surgeon on Breast Cancer Awareness were arranged in various community groups of women in 2014 and 2015. Discussion on the topic was aired on several leading television channels to raise public awareness on the disease so that patients seek treatment at an early stage for improved prognosis. Awareness on early screening for the disease is also a prime objective.
